It sounds ridiculous. But when the New York Times reported on an increase in Avocado-related hand injuries, people began coming forward and sharing their own. It turns out Avocado Hand is not as rare as it sounds. (Hi Meryl.)
Enter OXO’s 3-in-1 Avocado Slicer: though it has been a cult favorite for years, the Avocado Hand epidemic added value to this kitchen unitasker.
Because OXO firmly believes that the best slices of avocado toast don’t involve a trip to the ER, I put together these pieces of content to demonstrate how this tool could #EndAvocadoHand — from a short, social-friendly video for Instagram to still images that were used across both paid and organic social to an e-blast to our 80,000+ subscribers, all of this content was concepted, created, and published within two days.
The campaign was a success, driving social engagement rates to 158% above our benchmark, and increasing sales of the Avocado Slicer on Amazon by over 1600%. (Yeah, 1600%.)
Once every two weeks (or so), we change the main sliders on the topodesigns.com homepage to showcase new products based on business priorities. These are some of the highlights.
Frozen rosé was all the rage last summer, and OXO makes every tool to make preparing the fruity cocktail even better.
The goal was to create content that incorporated high priority OXO products into a current food trend; as such, the content was all written and published within the span of a week.
(Paid & organic social, recipe blog post, email)
This Spring Cleaning campaign was designed to draw attention to OXO’s line of cleaning and organizing tools and demonstrate ethos in categories around the home.
It was launched in the beginning of April, and contained social and email components, as well as blog posts and a spring cleaning playlist.
The result? A social clickthrough rate 453% above the benchmark, and the highest conversion rate of a single campaign to date.
The idea was simple: create a piece of content to live in our Instagram Story for one specific holiday — 4/20.
The challenge: OXO is not known for its edginess.
The result: a piece of content that highlights one specific product (the GreenSaver Herb Keeper was too good to pass up), with copy that alludes, heavily, to said holiday, without overtly stating anything. Some people responded to the story with a laughing emoji. Others responded with genuine questions about the product.
Success on all counts.
When you ask new parents what they look for in a travel stroller, most will talk about their need for something that isn’t too heavy, has enough storage for diapers, wallet, cell phone and keys, and doesn’t require a lot of wrangling to open and close.
So we took all of those attributes, and we designed the new Air Stroller with those in mind.
It’s the next big thing, and it folds up really, really small.

To show OXO’s support for the Supreme Court’s ruling, I created this quick piece of content. It didn’t need a ton of flashy copy or explanation; the simplicity is the statement.
